· Part-time contractor position (20-25 hours/week average) at $30/hour.
· Initial 6-month contract with the possibility for extension pending funding and campaign needs.
· Anticipated start date June 15, 2026
· Must be based in Vermont. Flexible schedule required, including some evenings and weekends

We have played a leading role in stopping the destruction of tropical rainforests, protecting Indigenous rights, and driving billions of dollars of investment in decarbonization.
Bring Catamounts Home is a rewilding initiative of Mighty Earth focused on restoring catamounts (also known as mountain lions, cougars, or pumas) to the Eastern United States. The campaign is helping lead a regional conversation about ecological restoration of catamounts and the future of wild nature in the Northeast. We are seeking a passionate, outgoing, and highly motivated Grassroots Organizer to help grow and activate our Vermont supporter network.
Position Overview
The Vermont Grassroots Organizer will help build public engagement and grassroots support for the Bring Catamounts Home campaign across Vermont. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys community organizing, public outreach, environmental advocacy, event coordination, and relationship building.
The organizer will play a key role in expanding the campaign’s statewide presence through events, volunteer engagement, supporter communications, and creative public education initiatives. This is a highly people-oriented position. We are looking for someone who is energized by talking with the public, building relationships, and helping grow a statewide movement.
